TL;DR · Senior IAM Automation Engineer
As a Senior IAM Automation Engineer, you will join the team to transform workforce identity and access management by replacing manual processes with scalable, API-driven solutions. You will build infrastructure-as-code for identity systems across hybrid and multi-cloud environments while designing automated workflows for HRIS integrations, ticketing systems, and collaboration platforms. Your daily work involves developing production code in Python, PowerShell, or Go, utilizing tools like Terraform, Ansible, Okta, Entra ID, and Tines to create self-healing capabilities and robust observability. You will also pioneer non-human identity governance for AI agents and service accounts while mentoring junior team members through code reviews and knowledge sharing. This role solves the challenge of managing complex identities in a high-growth environment by ensuring secure, automated provisioning across various enterprise applications and cloud infrastructures.
Skills
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code for identity systems using Terraform, PowerShell, and Python across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
- Architect API-driven automation to orchestrate identity workflows between HRIS, ticketing systems, and enterprise applications.
- Implement observability, monitoring, and automated remediation capabilities to reduce operational toil in authentication and provisioning flows.
- Create automation frameworks to enable rapid onboarding of new SaaS applications while maintaining security standards.
- Develop governance policies and automation for non-human identities, including AI agents, service accounts, and machine-to-machine authentication.
- Mentor junior team members through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing to improve overall engineering capabilities.
- Drive technical innovation by establishing CI/CD pipelines and utilizing AI tools to accelerate the delivery of identity solutions.
What we're looking for
- 7-10+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or software engineering roles with a focus on IAM automation.
- 5+ years of experience writing production code in Python, PowerShell, Go, or similar languages.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent technical experience).
- Expertise in IAM architecture including SSO protocols (SAML, OIDC), provisioning standards (SCIM), and platforms like Okta and Entra ID.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
- Experience implementing workflow automation tools such as Tines, Workato, or n8n.
- Experience managing identity systems across hybrid environments including Active Directory, AWS IAM, and GCP Cloud Identity.
- Ability to integrate IAM workflows with HRIS systems like Workday and ticketing systems like ServiceNow.
