The Senior Health Data Operations Analyst - Compass joins the Analytics team to manage and enhance data quality within the Veeva Compass product suite. This role focuses on maintaining the Terminology Reference Library by managing core reference datasets, including drug information, ICD-10 codes, procedure/lab codes, and payer/plan data. You will perform deep-dive querying, field mapping, and structural analysis to integrate new inbound data sources into existing schemas while executing cleansing workflows to ensure accuracy and completeness. The position requires advanced SQL proficiency, experience with healthcare code sets like NDC and CPT/HCPCS, and the ability to create interactive dashboards using tools such as Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or Sigma. You will solve complex problems regarding record-level prescription and medical claims data to support longitudinal, de-identified patient analytics for commercial use cases.
Maintain and expand the Terminology Reference Library (TRL) for prescription and medical claims data.
Perform deep-dive querying and structural analysis to integrate new data sources into core schemas.
Execute data cleansing workflows including deduplication, handling missing values, and ensuring accuracy.
Investigate product anomalies and test planned or unplanned changes to assess downstream customer impact.
Develop interactive dashboards to track key quality metrics and report on data findings.
Create technical documentation and validation reports to ensure reference data remains scalable and accurate.
What we're looking for
4+ years of experience analyzing record-level prescription and medical claims datasets.
4+ years of experience in health data quality analysis, data profiling, and data governance principles.
Advanced SQL proficiency for querying, manipulating, and aggregating large-scale relational databases.
Deep knowledge of healthcare code sets including NDC, ICD-10, CPT/HCPCS, LOINC, and payer/plan reference data.
Experience analyzing, visualizing, and demonstrating data quality findings using Excel, BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Sigma), or interactive dashboards.
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM, quantitative, or healthcare informatics field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience in Python (preferred).
Experience with the BI tool Sigma (preferred) and in the life science industry (preferred).
