Senior Health Data Operations Analyst - Compass joins the Analytics team to manage and enhance data quality within the Veeva Compass product suite. This role focuses on maintaining the Terminology Reference Library by managing core reference datasets, including drug information, ICD-10 codes, procedure/lab codes, and payer/plan data. The analyst will perform deep-dive querying, field mapping, and structural analysis to integrate new inbound data sources into existing schemas while executing quality workflows like deduplication and gap analysis. Key responsibilities include building interactive dashboards to track metrics and creating technical documentation for internal stakeholders. Required skills include advanced SQL proficiency, experience with healthcare code sets such as NDC and CPT/HCPCS, and expertise in tools like Excel or BI platforms including Tableau, Power BI, and Sigma. The role addresses the challenge of providing accurate, scalable longitudinal patient analytics for commercial use cases.
Maintain and expand the Terminology Reference Library (TRL) for prescription and medical claims data.
Query large-scale relational databases to evaluate and integrate new inbound data sources into core schemas.
Perform exploratory data analysis to identify discrepancies, handle missing values, and execute deduplication.
Investigate data anomalies within the product suite to assess the impact of planned and unplanned changes.
Develop interactive dashboards to track key data quality metrics and report on findings.
Create technical documentation and validation reports to ensure reference data remains accurate and scalable.
Partner with cross-functional teams to identify root causes of data issues and build robust pipelines.
What we're looking for
4+ years of experience analyzing record-level prescription and medical claims datasets.
4+ years of experience in health data quality analysis, data profiling, and data governance principles.
Advanced SQL proficiency for querying, manipulating, and aggregating large-scale relational databases.
Deep knowledge of healthcare code sets including NDC, ICD-10, CPT/HCPCS, LOINC, and payer/plan reference data.
Experience analyzing, visualizing, and demonstrating data quality findings using Excel, BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Sigma), or interactive dashboards.
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM, quantitative, or healthcare informatics field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience in Python (preferred).
Experience with the BI tool Sigma (preferred) and experience in the life science industry (preferred).
