Senior Hardware R&D Technician

What you'll do

• Perform high-precision micro-soldering, component swaps, and complex SMT rework on prototype circuit boards.
• Build, crimp, and terminate intricate wire harnesses and cable assemblies from electrical schematics.
• Integrate custom wire harnesses into prototype vehicles and hardware-in-the-loop test rigs.
• Use multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies to trace signals and troubleshoot hardware faults during board bring-up.
• Document physical assembly challenges and provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) feedback to improve hardware iterations.
• Maintain an organized, efficient, and fully stocked R&D lab environment.
• Create custom brackets and test fixtures using basic machine shop tools and welding.

What we're looking for

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in an electronics R&D lab or manufacturing environment.
• Advanced micro-soldering skills for intricate PCBA rework and fine-pitch surface mount technology (SMT).
• Proven ability to read and interpret electrical schematics to build, crimp, splice, and terminate custom wire harnesses.
• Proficiency using benchtop testing and diagnostic equipment like multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
• Experience in autonomous vehicle, advanced robotics, or aerospace industries (preferred).
• Familiarity with automotive-grade connectors and vehicle communication protocols like CAN, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet (preferred).
• Hands-on experience with mechanical prototyping tools such as drill presses, band saws, and welding (preferred).
