Senior GenAI Engineer, Apple Cloud AI

What you'll do

• Design and develop platform capabilities including agent orchestration, agentic RAG, and LLM model configuration.
• Build fine-tuning and reinforcement learning pipelines that meet high security and safety standards.
• Drive LLM and agent optimization through caching, prompt tuning, and latency reduction techniques.
• Define the technical roadmap and strategy for scalable and secure GenAI components.
• Build reusable AI agents to automate reasoning tasks and integrate with internal systems.
• Develop agent harnesses including integrations with agent memory, context, and secure sandboxes.
• Establish best practices for engineering excellence and operational sustainability of AI infrastructure.

What we're looking for

• 4+ years of machine learning and software development experience.
• 1+ years of experience as a technical lead guiding teams through complex design decisions.
• Hands-on experience designing and building GenAI platforms for agent orchestration, prompt engineering, RAG integration, and model selection.
• Experience building AI agents capable of multi-step reasoning, tool usage, and deploying agent harnesses with memory and context integrations.
• In-depth understanding of LLM inference optimization, including prompt tuning, caching, quantization, and latency reduction.
• In-depth understanding of security primitives for AI agents, including policy enforcement, access control, and hallucination detection.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or similar languages for AI/ML systems and platform engineering.
• B.S., M.S., or PhD degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• Expertise in 3rd party Cloud Environments (Google Cloud and AWS) (preferred).
• Hands-on experience using Kubernetes as an orchestration layer (preferred).
• Proven experience in customizing foundation models for task-specific performance and domain alignment (preferred).
