The Senior Data Security Architect joins the Security Architecture organization to design, review, and govern security architectures protecting data assets across cloud, on-premises, SaaS, analytics, and hybrid environments. You will build enterprise data security standards and reference patterns while defining requirements for data classification, encryption, tokenization, masking, privacy, and retention. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting architecture reviews for data lakes, warehouses, and large-scale ecosystems, and partnering with engineering and cybersecurity teams to embed controls. You will utilize expertise in cryptographic technologies including KMS, HSMs, PKI, and secrets management platforms. The role addresses the technical challenge of ensuring sensitive information remains secure, resilient, and compliant throughout its lifecycle within complex global environments, specifically focusing on data protection across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
Design and maintain enterprise data security architectures and reference patterns across cloud, SaaS, and hybrid environments.
Define security requirements for data classification, encryption, tokenization, masking, and cryptographic key management.
Conduct security architecture reviews for data lakes, warehouses, analytics platforms, and large-scale data ecosystems.
Embed security controls into enterprise data platforms in partnership with engineering, cloud, and cybersecurity teams.
Define cryptographic architecture requirements for KMS, HSMs, secrets management, and certificate lifecycle management.
Assess data security risks and develop mitigation strategies aligned with enterprise policies and regulatory requirements.
Evaluate emerging data security technologies and industry trends to support future-state architecture strategies.
What we're looking for
13 years or more of experience in data security, security architecture, cloud security, information protection, cryptography, or related technology disciplines.
At least 8 years of hands-on cybersecurity experience (preferred).
Demonstrated experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale data protection and security architectures in complex global environments.
Deep expertise in data classification, protection, encryption, tokenization, masking, privacy controls, data governance, and secure data lifecycle management.
Strong understanding of cloud data platforms and services across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
Deep expertise in cryptographic key management systems, Hardware Security Modules (HSMs), enterprise PKI, secrets management platforms, and encryption lifecycle management.
Experience conducting architecture reviews, threat modeling, risk assessments, and security design evaluations for data-centric platforms and services.
Professional certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CDPSE, CIPP, SABSA, TOGAF, AWS Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer, or equivalent (preferred).
