What you'll do

Design, implement, and operate backend services and APIs for hardware inventory and onboarding.
Develop data models to represent hardware identity, physical location, component relationships, and lifecycle states.
Build ingestion workflows to validate incoming hardware data and reconcile discrepancies across partner systems.
Implement reliable asynchronous processing featuring retries, idempotency, concurrency control, and failure recovery.
Maintain consistent inventory information across all services as hardware fleets and deployment sites grow.
Translate real-world hardware and networking workflows into robust, maintainable software solutions.
Write automated tests and improve service performance, observability, and reliability.
Investigate production issues and replace recurring manual fixes with durable engineering improvements.

What we're looking for

Applicants must be able to read, write, and speak English.
5+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production backend services, distributed systems, or cloud platforms.
Strong programming skills in Java or other backend languages such as Go, Python, or C++.
Experience designing APIs, relational data models, and database-backed services.
Understanding of distributed systems concepts, including concurrency, consistency, fault tolerance, and recovery.
Experience delivering software through implementation, automated testing, deployment, and production support.
Experience with hardware inventory, asset lifecycle management, bare-metal provisioning, or infrastructure automation (preferred).
Experience with database performance tuning, schema migrations, and backward-compatible APIs (preferred).
