The Senior Core Infrastructure Engineer joins the OCI Networking Next Gen Network Observability team to build distributed network observability software. This role focuses on transforming measurements and telemetry into actionable intelligence to create self-healing networks. You will design and develop service features, write production-grade code, and manage service operations including troubleshooting and incident response. Key responsibilities include developing automated tests for detection accuracy and collaborating on topology-aware analytics, congestion detection, and fault localization. You will utilize Java, Go, C++, Rust, or Python, alongside AI-assisted development tools. The work involves processing high-volume, time-sensitive data to solve complex problems in distributed services, telemetry pipelines, and real-time network states, specifically addressing L2/L3 forwarding, BGP, ECMP, and data center fabrics to improve network resilience and visibility.
Design and develop new service features for distributed network observability from concept to production.
Write high-quality, production-grade code in languages such as Java, Go, C++, Rust, or Python.
Own service operations including troubleshooting, incident response, and resolving complex distributed service issues.
Develop automated tests and validation frameworks for detection accuracy, localization quality, and system performance.
Build software to transform telemetry into actionable intelligence for self-healing networks and automated traffic steering.
Contribute to topology-aware analytics, congestion detection, and fault localization at cloud scale.
Participate in architecture reviews to maintain standards for correctness, scalability, and operational readiness.
What we're looking for

Candidates must have 3 to 5+ years of experience.
Required skills include AIOps, Distributed Systems, Monitoring Software, Networking Fundamentals, and Software Engineering.
Candidates must have hands-on experience with networking, algorithms, telemetry, and distributed computing.
Candidates must be able to write production-grade code in Java, Go, C++, Rust, or Python.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience (preferred).
3-5+ years of experience building distributed systems, network software, network measurement platforms, or telemetry and observability systems (preferred).
Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals including L2/L3 forwarding, routing, switching, BGP, ECMP, and data center fabrics (preferred).
