What you'll do

Program, set up, and operate large-format 5-axis CNC gantry routers and mills for trimming, drilling, and surfacing composite components.
Provide real-time feedback to engineers on early-stage prototype models to optimize Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
Design and fabricate custom work holding, including vacuum fixtures for delicate, near-net-shape parts.
Machine master models and direct-to-part molds from foam, tooling board, and other pattern materials.
Troubleshoot unique machining challenges specific to composites, such as delamination, fiber pull-out, and thermal degradation.
Perform in-process quality control and dimensional verification to ensure high-quality prototype components and surface finishes.

What we're looking for

Must be a U.S. Person for access to export-controlled data.
4+ years of CAM programming experience using software such as Esprit or hyperMILL.
5+ years of hands-on CNC setup and operation experience.
Deep knowledge of machining composite materials including carbon fiber, fiberglass, Kevlar, and foam cores.
Proficiency in G and M code, high-speed 5-axis machining, GD&T, and Fanuc controls.
Expertise in cutting-tool selection for abrasive materials and designing custom work holding.
Ability to troubleshoot unique machining challenges like delamination and fiber pull-out.
Experience with Siemens NX CAD, Teamcenter, or on-machine verification cycles is preferred.
