Senior BI Engineer, Platform, Databricks

What you'll do

• Design and maintain reporting-ready dimensional models and metric definitions in Databricks.
• Build and maintain dashboards for data quality, delivery timeliness, and platform costs.
• Publish certified, documented datasets and maintain the data dictionary for self-service analytics.
• Define data access controls, PHI/PII protection, and naming standards for BI tools.
• Evaluate BI tools and ensure business logic remains in the data layer to prevent rework.
• Tune queries, warehouse usage, and refresh schedules to ensure performance and reliability.
• Gather requirements from domain teams and leadership to turn feedback into technical improvements.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics engineering, or data engineering.
• 3+ years of experience coding in SQL and data modeling, including window functions, CTEs, and star schemas.
• 3+ years of experience with at least one enterprise BI platform like Tableau or Power BI.
• 3+ years of experience building semantic layers using tools like dbt, Databricks metric views, or Power BI semantic models.
• 3+ years of experience with cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Synapse, or BigQuery.
• 3+ years of experience with data governance, including role-based access and handling sensitive data.
• 6+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics engineering, or data engineering (preferred).
