Senior Data Platform Engineer

What you'll do

• Build and maintain shared Python libraries and configuration-driven frameworks for domain team onboarding.
• Own GitHub Actions pipelines and release processes for promoting Databricks Asset Bundles to production.
• Extend Terraform coverage for Azure and Databricks infrastructure as code.
• Support the production platform by building observability, triaging incidents, and leading root cause analysis.
• Maintain platform and data controls using Unity Catalog in a regulated healthcare environment.
• Partner with domain teams to onboard data sources and develop self-service features.
• Track performance, reliability, and delivery metrics from a data and platform perspective.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of progressive experience in software, platform, DevOps/SRE, or data engineering.
• 2+ years of experience building or operating cloud data platforms or production data systems.
• Strong Python skills including packaging, modular/testable code, and pytest.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform managing Azure and Databricks resources.
• Production experience with Spark/PySpark, SQL, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and Delta Live Tables.
• Experience supporting production systems with monitoring, incident response, root cause analysis, and disaster recovery.
• 6+ years of progressive experience in software, platform, DevOps/SRE, or data engineering (preferred).
