Senior Battery Test Engineer

What you'll do

• Execute development testing to burn down risks at the cell, module, and pack levels.
• Design robust test procedures for MIL, SIL, and HIL levels based on BMS requirements.
• Validate battery management system algorithms including state estimation, fault handling, and power limits.
• Write modular data processing scripts to generate plots and outputs for system-level decisions.
• Design tools and protocols to efficiently document test procedures and results.
• Characterize battery cell equivalent circuit models and deploy them to HILs or simulations.
• Support battery programs by establishing common test procedures and approaches across the company.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related Engineering discipline, ideally with an emphasis in battery development.
• 7+ years of professional experience in a related engineering field.
• Experience in an immersive interdisciplinary technical project in a collegiate or professional setting.
• Demonstrated validation of battery cells and modules/packs against system requirements.
• Experience in hardware automation and software-hardware communication/integration.
• Demonstrated proficiency in using Python or Matlab to process large data files into plots, summaries, and metrics.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
• Graduate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science with an applied focus on battery management systems (preferred).
