What you'll do

  • Develop workflows for experimental processing and numerical simulations in imaging science, plasma, and material physics.
  • Translate complex research findings into actionable feedback for engineering teams regarding toolkits and libraries.
  • Profile applications and run benchmarks to identify performance bottlenecks.
  • Provide technical recommendations to collaborators and product teams based on performance data.
  • Build sample applications and examples for educational tutorials.
  • Represent NVIDIA at scientific conferences, workshops, and industry events.
  • Construct a software stack for physics algorithms and data processing supported by advanced computing.

What we're looking for

  • BS, MS, or PhD in computational/theoretical/experimental physics, applied mathematics, computer science, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience building HPC, AI, or machine learning software for applications in physics and numerical simulations.
  • Strong experience with GPU-accelerated computing and modern ML frameworks.
  • Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • High-impact publications in HPC and AI for numerical simulations, plasma physics, and imaging science (preferred).
  • Deep understanding of numerical simulations such as particle-in-cell (preferred).
  • Experience with CUDA, parallel programming, or performance-focused software development (preferred).
  • Familiarity with agentic AI workflows for science and discovery (preferred).
