Senior AI Software Engineer, App Intelligence

What you'll do

• Design and develop software features that enable end-to-end app experiences within Siri.
• Partner with app teams to identify and integrate specific capabilities into the assistant's ecosystem.
• Define and iterate on the architecture for how apps expose their functionality to AI systems.
• Implement high-performance, debuggable code while adhering to strict on-device latency, memory, and power budgets.
• Diagnose failures in end-to-end experiences and translate them into measurable quality improvements.
• Contribute to evaluation and telemetry loops to validate whether changes improve user outcomes.
• Propose and implement architectural changes to ensure features can scale effectively.
• Utilize agentic coding tools to enhance engineering productivity and code quality at scale.

What we're looking for

• 4+ years experience developing and shipping production software.
• Strong proficiency in Swift, Objective-C, or C++.
• Experience building product features on top of large language models including tool/function calling, context construction, and output validation.
• Fluency with agentic coding tools for accelerating engineering productivity and quality.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to drive alignment across teams on shared API surfaces.
• Proven ability to excel in a fast-paced development team.
• Experience designing systems efficient in resource-constrained environments like latency, memory, and power budgets (preferred).
• Experience with evaluation, benchmarking, and telemetry for probabilistic systems (preferred).
