JOB TITLE: Senior Advanced Network Design Engineer (TS/SCI Clearance Required) The Senior Advanced Network Design Engineer (TS/SCI Clearance Required) joins the Annapolis Junction team to lead the design, implementation, testing, and modernization of secure, scalable LAN/WAN and communications infrastructure. You will translate program requirements into architecture designs, technical specifications, and configuration baselines while providing hardware and software selection for efficient solutions. Daily tasks include configuring routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and encryption systems, as well as administering Linux/UNIX and Windows systems. You will utilize Cisco network technologies, data-center protocols, and network virtualization to support CONUS and OCONUS operations. The role involves conducting performance analysis, supporting RMF/ATO activities, and managing technical documentation to solve complex problems within secure, multi-level network environments and mission-critical systems.

What you'll do

  • Lead the design, implementation, testing, and modernization of secure LAN/WAN and communications infrastructure.
  • Translate program requirements into architecture designs, technical specifications, configuration baselines, and implementation plans.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, encryption systems, and fiber/copper connectivity.
  • Conduct network validation, performance analysis, and technical trade studies to identify root causes and recommend improvements.
  • Support RMF/ATO activities by reviewing security documentation and performing vulnerability remediation.
  • Administer Linux/UNIX and Windows systems, including account administration, patching, and system hardening.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation such as network diagrams, SOPs, test procedures, and customer briefings.
  • Manage small projects by coordinating resources, communicating risks, and evaluating emerging technologies for continuous improvement.

What we're looking for

  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Department of Defense Top Secret/SCI security clearance is required at time of hire.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related Science/Mathematics field plus 8 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Technical expertise in network and computer hardware/software interconnection, including routers, multiplexers, hubs, bridges, and gateways.
  • Subject Matter Expert in at least one discipline with working knowledge in multiple adjacent fields.
  • Advanced experience with Cisco network technologies, WAN/LAN, data-center protocols, QoS, VoIP, and network virtualization (preferred).
  • Experience with network monitoring, performance management, encryption systems, and U.S. Government COMSEC standards (preferred).
  • Relevant advanced certifications such as CCNP, Security+, CISSP, RHCE, or VMware (preferred).
