Security Engineer Cybersecurity Monitor

What you'll do

• Monitor DHRA cybersecurity posture using government-mandated tools and capabilities.
• Validate the configuration, deployment, connectivity, and compliance of cybersecurity tools against NIST requirements.
• Identify and report tool failures, outages, and data quality issues that impact security visibility.
• Manage technical tickets by coordinating with system owners and IT operations to resolve infrastructure problems.
• Develop and track corrective action plans for identified cybersecurity tool deficiencies.
• Create measurable metrics to provide leadership visibility into tool health and enterprise coverage.
• Analyze monitoring results to identify trends and recommend improvements for cybersecurity capabilities.
• Maintain documented tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) and review technical work products for accuracy.

What we're looking for

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• An active Secret security clearance is required at the time of consideration.
• A Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
• Candidates must have 4 or more years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience supporting cybersecurity monitoring, security engineering, cybersecurity operations, or enterprise security-tool environments is required.
• Experience evaluating the configuration, connectivity, availability, coverage, and operational status of cybersecurity tools is required.
• Working knowledge of Department of Defense cybersecurity requirements, NIST security guidance, or comparable Federal standards is required.
• Ability to develop technical procedures, monitoring documentation, metrics, and communicate technical issues to various stakeholders is required.
