JOB TITLE: SATCOM IP Network Support Engineer The SATCOM IP Network Support Engineer joins the Enterprise SATCOM Gateway Services team to support DISA-provided GIG capabilities within the Global Operations Center. This role involves executing network operations, including the configuration and analysis of customer circuits across all SATCOM teleports and gateways. Daily responsibilities include performing real-time circuit redesigns to restore connectivity during outages, managing hardware replacements, and monitoring network alarms. The position requires utilizing incident management applications to document outages and identifying resolutions for network deficiencies. Key technical skills include proficiency with routers, switches, crypto devices, and specific platforms such as CISCO, Juniper, iDirect, EBEM, ESEM, linkway, and MPM1000 modems. The work focuses on maintaining maximum network availability for the Defense Information System Network to minimize operational impacts for national security organizations.

What you'll do

Execute network operations including configuration and analysis of customer circuits across SATCOM teleports and gateways.
Perform real-time circuit redesign and alternate routing to restore connectivity during outages and maintenance.
Execute change management tasks such as hardware replacement, software configurations, and ASI management.
Proactively monitor network alarms using platform-specific network management tools.
Document all aspects of reported outages, isolations, escalations, and resolutions in incident management applications.
Assess and recommend resolutions for network incidents using knowledge of routers, switches, and crypto devices.

What we're looking for

Hold a DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) prior to start date.
Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance.
Require a BS degree and 2–4 years of relevant experience, or a Masters with less than 2 years of relevant experience.
Must be able to work in a 24x7 shift work environment.
Require a general understanding of SATCOM and networking principles.
Experience working with deployed SATCOM terminals (preferred).
Experience with circuit actions, Telco NOC, or inside/outside plant experience (preferred).
Experience with MS Office suite and alarm surveillance, fault management, or LAN maintenance (preferred).
