Senior SATCOM Cyber System Security Engineer

What you'll do

• Identify and implement security systems, tools, and applications to protect satellite communications infrastructure.
• Perform risk assessments and vulnerability management using automated systems like ACAS and Nessus.
• Create and map Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and conduct periodic compliance self-assessments.
• Execute Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) actions including alerts, bulletins, and tasking orders.
• Develop Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&M) and documentation for Risk Management Framework (RMF) accreditations.
• Remediate system vulnerabilities in accordance with DoD Tasking Orders and FRAGOs.
• Brief client leadership on technical security postures and provide recommendations to mitigate future threats.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, or Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience implementing, testing, and validating STIGs, performing system self-assessments, and creating STIG checklists.
• 8+ years of experience executing IAVM actions and developing compliant engineering responses.
• 8+ years of experience deploying and validating ESS, ACAS, and CMRS while analyzing scans and implementing patches.
• 8+ years of experience reviewing cybersecurity and engineering change requests for operational availability and compliance.
• Ability to manage users in Windows or Linux and administer VMs in VMware or Hyper-V.
• Ability to accredit and secure DoD systems using RMF, perform IAVA analysis, document POA&Ms, and prepare security assessment artifacts.
• Knowledge of DoD Tasking Orders applied to networks and IT systems like Cisco routers, switches, Active Directory, or access control.
• Top Secret clearance (preferred).
• Cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP or CEH, or networking certifications like Network+ or Cisco (preferred).
