The RF Hardware Engineer - Multi-Radio Coexistence joins the RF Systems Engineering team to manage the overall system performance of multi-radio coexistence for various wireless technologies including Cellular, Wi-Fi, BT, GPS, UWB, and NFC. The role involves assessing platform-level performance impacts on end users, designing software mitigation schemes, and bringing up devices under test for performance studies. Key responsibilities include analyzing wireless logs to understand field usage patterns, executing validation and characterization test plans, and collaborating on circuit-level and system-level simulations to root cause issues. Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and experience with RF components, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes. The work focuses on defining hardware specifications and software mitigation policies for complex wireless architectures and antenna sharing.
Assess multi-radio coexistence performance impact on end-users across various wireless technologies.
Design software mitigation schemes and implementation paths in coordination with wireless software partners.
Bring up devices under test and develop specific test procedures and experimental setups.
Analyze wireless logs and usage statistics to identify field performance issues and patterns.
Propose hardware and software design changes to resolve coexistence issues within design constraints.
Execute validation and characterization test plans to meet specific performance targets.
Perform circuit-level and system-level simulations to identify risk areas and root cause issues.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 10+ years relevant work experience.
Master’s degree in electrical engineering with 10+ years relevant work experience (preferred).
Experience with at least one radio of Cellular, GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Thread, NFC, and UWB.
Knowledge of RF component characteristics and experience using lab equipment including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, and call boxes.
Knowledge of wireless architectures including front-end, antenna sharing, and link budget line-up.
Experience debugging and performing RF measurements at the conducted and radiated level (preferred).
Experience on coexistence performance benchmark, impact analysis, software mitigation scheme, MAC/PHY, and throughput measurement and debug (preferred).
Experience working with chipset teams to define RF/wireless system-level requirements and influence chipset architecture or design decisions (preferred).
