RF Hardware Engineer - Multi-Radio Coexistence
As a member of the RF Systems Engineering team, you will manage the overall system performance of multi-radio coexistence for various wireless technologies including Cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, UWB, and NFC. You will be responsible for assessing platform-level impact on end users by designing bench experiments, analyzing wireless logs to identify field usage patterns, and developing test procedures for device bring-up. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional partners to define performance specifications, design software mitigation schemes, and execute validation plans. You will utilize specialized tools such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes to perform measurements at the conducted and radiated levels. Key technical competencies include knowledge of RF component characteristics, antenna sharing, link budget line-up, and wireless protocol stacks across the RF, PHY, and MAC layers.
Assess multi-radio coexistence performance impact across various wireless technologies at the system level.
Design and execute validation and characterization test plans to meet performance targets.
Analyze wireless logs and field usage data to inform controlled bench performance studies.
Develop hardware and software mitigation schemes for identified coexistence issues.
Bring up devices under test and develop corresponding test procedures and experimental setups.
Define product-level coexistence specifications, including test methodologies and key performance metrics.
Perform circuit-level and system-level simulations to identify risk areas and root cause issues.
Communicate data-driven insights and validation results to cross-functional partners and leadership.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with 10+ years of relevant work experience.
Master's degree in electrical engineering with 10+ years of relevant work experience is preferred.
Experience with at least one radio technology including Cellular, GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Thread, NFC, or UWB.
Knowledge of RF component characteristics and proficiency using lab equipment like spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes.
Knowledge of wireless architectures including front-end, antenna sharing, and link budget line-up.
Experience debugging and performing RF measurements at the conducted and radiated level.
Experience with coexistence performance benchmarking, impact analysis, software mitigation schemes, and MAC/PHY and throughput measurement.
Familiarity with wireless protocol stacks at the RF, PHY, and MAC layers.
