As a Recovery Analyst, Merchant Lending Credit, you will join the team responsible for balancing risk, experience, and economics within the merchant lending model. You will analyze the end-to-end recovery process, from initial outreach through payment settlement, to identify improvements for both merchants and internal systems. Your daily work involves mapping workflows, designing business rules for ticket prioritization, and defining merchant segmentation strategies. You will collaborate with Trust, Finance, Product, Engineering, Data, and Operations teams to define success metrics and improve system scalability. To succeed, you must possess expert process mapping skills, advanced SQL proficiency for deep-dive data analysis, and experience with BI tools like Tableau or Looker. You will also manage requirements gathering, lead user acceptance testing, and translate complex data into clear narratives to influence the product roadmap and infrastructure investments.

What you'll do

  • Analyze the end-to-end recovery process from initial outreach through payment settlement.
  • Map and review "As-Is" and "To-Be" workflows, including triggers, routing, and SLAs.
  • Design business rules for ticket creation, prioritization, and merchant segmentation.
  • Use SQL to perform deep-dive analyses on strategy effectiveness and recommend concrete changes.
  • Architect and maintain reporting dashboards to provide real-time views of recovery performance.
  • Partner with data engineering to design pipelines and ensure high data quality for analytics.
  • Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system changes, including test plans and post-launch monitoring.
  • Influence product roadmaps by creating data-backed narratives for investment prioritization.

What we're looking for

  • Experience in lending, credit, fintech, or other financial services.
  • Expert-level process mapping skills to build detailed workflows and system diagrams.
  • Strong requirements gathering and facilitation skills to translate business needs into technical specifications.
  • Advanced SQL skills for analyzing large, complex datasets in relational databases.
  • Hands-on experience with BI and visualization tools like Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.
  • Solid understanding of data concepts and experience partnering on data pipeline design.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and tracking KPIs for operational or risk processes.
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear narratives for executive storytelling.
