Senior Data Scientist, BNPL Credit Risk Oversight

What you'll do

• Lead the development and implementation of advanced data science models and algorithms.
• Provide analytical support for Second Line oversight of Buy Now Pay Later products.
• Assess and review credit strategies and exposure limits to ensure alignment with risk appetite.
• Ensure data quality and integrity across all analytical processes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.
• Mentor and guide junior data scientists on best practices and technical skills.
• Communicate complex credit risk concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

What we're looking for

• 3+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong analytical skills to identify patterns, derive business insights, and translate them into compelling narratives.
• Ability to assess and review credit strategy and exposure limits to ensure alignment with Risk Appetite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey credit risk concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Critical thinking skills with the ability to influence, negotiate, and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work with geographically dispersed teams across different time zones.
• Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, or engineering (preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in credit risk management or lending involving understanding of credit risk fundamentals (preferred).
