As a Quantum Infrastructure Intern 2027 - SRE, you will join the Quantum Operations team to ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of software systems supporting IBM Quantum systems, applications, and research platforms. You will collaborate with security experts and infrastructure engineers to monitor system health, troubleshoot production issues, automate operational tasks, and maintain stable, scalable environments. The role involves working with cloud technologies, automation, observability, and site reliability engineering practices to advance quantum computing technologies. Required skills include programming in Java and Python using pandas and NumPy, an understanding of data structures, linear algebra, probability, and statistics, and proficiency with tools like VS Code, Jupyter notebooks, and Git. Preferred experience includes Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi, containerization via Docker and Kubernetes, and deploying workloads on major cloud providers.

What we're looking for
High School Diploma or GED required.
Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
Currently pursuing a degree in Network Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience programming in Java and Python, including pandas and NumPy.
Understanding of data structures in software applications.
Proficiency with tools such as VS Code, Jupyter notebooks, and Git.
Understanding of linear algebra, probability, and statistics.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi), cloud platforms, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and strong communication skills (preferred).
