As a Quality Engineering Software Engineer, Senior, you will join the team to establish a new quality engineering approach for a production platform used by cyber experts and analysts. You will own the testing strategy, framework, and tooling that engineers use to validate product behavior and diagnose failures. Your daily responsibilities include designing maintainable testing frameworks, building reusable Python tooling, and integrating automated checks into CI/CD workflows. You will create representative test data, reproducible environments, and diagnostics to distinguish product defects from environment issues while establishing testing patterns for other engineers. The role requires expertise in Python, Docker, and potentially React, TypeScript, or AWS. This position addresses the critical challenge of ensuring reliable software performance within the specialized domain of cyber operations, cyber defense, and security analytics.
Define testing strategies based on critical product behaviors and the impact of potential failures.
Design and build maintainable testing frameworks and reusable Python tooling.
Integrate automated checks into CI/CD workflows to ensure fast and reliable developer feedback.
Create representative test data, reproducible environments, and diagnostics to isolate product defects.
Report validation results and identify remaining gaps in product quality for the engineering team.
Establish and document testing patterns that other engineers can use and extend through code reviews.
What we're looking for
4+ years of experience in professional software engineering including building, shipping, or supporting production software, developer tools, or test infrastructure.
3+ years of experience developing and maintaining software with Python, including reusable tooling, automation, or backend services.
2+ years of experience designing or building automated test frameworks or test infrastructure integrated into CI/CD workflows.
2+ years of experience testing and debugging software across services, APIs, databases, data workflows, or production systems using Docker or reproducible environments.
2+ years of experience owning a software engineering workstream from design through implementation and adoption.
Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Systems.
Experience with React, TypeScript, AWS, production telemetry, or cyber operations (preferred).
