Product Solutions Architect, FinOps

What you'll do

• Serve as the subject matter expert for Datadog's Cloud Cost Management products across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Provide architectural guidance on capacity planning and performance versus cost trade-offs for cloud environments.
• Guide customers on AI tokenomics and cost attribution using Tag Pipelines to map usage to business units.
• Help enterprise clients set up cost anomaly monitoring and connect token usage to unit economics.
• Design tagging strategies, showback models, and cost reporting for customers adopting Cloud Cost Management.
• Create technical collateral including reference architectures, guides, and blog articles for the customer community.
• Deliver actionable feedback to Product Management to shape the roadmap for cost allocation and FinOps integrations.

What we're looking for

• Provide architectural guidance on capacity planning and cloud service cost models across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Demonstrate hands-on experience managing, allocating, or optimizing cloud spend or building FinOps programs in production environments.
• Possess a deep understanding of cost models, performance characteristics, and container platforms including Kubernetes.
• Experience with languages such as Python and/or SQL for querying and modeling large billing datasets.
• Ability to travel via auto, train, or air up to 40% of the time.
• Ability to sit up to 4 hours while traveling to and from client sites.
• 5+ years experience as a Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, or FinOps practitioner supporting cloud cost management tools (preferred).
• Experience using Datadog or other observability tools in an SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering capacity (preferred).
• Familiarity with FinOps Foundation practices and commitment management like Savings Plans or Reserved Instances (preferred).
• FinOps certification (e.g., FinOps Certified Practitioner) is a plus (preferred).
