Cloud FinOps Architect

What you'll do

• Define the technical vision and roadmap for cloud financial operations.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team of cloud engineers, data architects, and analysts.
• Design and implement scalable capabilities for cloud cost management, governance, and reporting.
• Architect solutions to provide visibility into cloud expenses, usage patterns, and financial trends.
• Leverage cloud billing data and APIs to identify optimization opportunities and support forecasting.
• Develop dashboards, reporting pipelines, and automated capabilities for leadership decision-making.
• Translate business and financial objectives into technical strategies for cloud investments.

What we're looking for

• 10+ years of experience in technical roles such as IT, software development, cloud architecture, DevOps, or enterprise architecture.
• 6+ years of experience in cloud architecture, DevOps, FinOps engineering, or cloud financial operations roles.
• Experience architecting and implementing cloud cost management, optimization, governance, reporting, or automation solutions.
• Experience with cloud billing models, cost optimization strategies, FinOps principles, and cost allocation or chargeback models.
• Experience designing dashboards and reporting solutions using tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Experience with cloud billing APIs, tagging strategies, usage analytics, and using SQL to query and transform cloud cost data.
• Experience with AWS and Microsoft Azure cloud-native architectures.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination.
• Experience building or leading a Cloud Business Office (CBO) or Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) (preferred).
• Experience with Microsoft’s FinOps Toolkit and developing custom cloud financial reporting (preferred).
• Experience supporting regulated environments such as public sector or healthcare (preferred).
• Experience applying AI/ML, predictive analytics, or advanced analytics to cloud cost optimization (preferred).
• Experience supporting Public Health organizations (preferred).
• Knowledge of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention business models (preferred).
• Master’s degree in a Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or Finance field (preferred).
• FinOps Certified Practitioner or Advanced Certification (preferred).
