As a Senior Product Quality Engineer, you will join the team responsible for Bolt and auxiliary accessory products to define, develop, and execute processes that ensure high quality and reliability. You will manage the product development process during new product introduction phases, collaborating with systems, electrical, mechanical, software, and test engineering teams. Your daily work involves driving production for quad-copter drones by reviewing drawings and work instructions, managing inspection performance, and performing root cause analysis to resolve quality ambiguities. You will oversee the transition from design qualification to high-rate manufacturing while ensuring compliance with government inspections. Key technical competencies include experience with FMEA, APQP, PPAP, MSA, GD&T, DOE, and SPC methodologies. You will utilize tools such as MatLab, JMP, MiniTab, Teamcenter, SolidWorks, NX, Jira, Tableau, and Altium to support the product lifecycle for aerial vehicles.
Manage the product development process from initial concept through new product introduction and high-rate manufacturing.
Drive quality and reliability for drone products by reviewing drawings, work instructions, and performing verification and validation.
Resolve quality ambiguities related to product maturity, process stability, and field performance.
Lead Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities and manage Material Review Board (MRB) processes.
Perform root cause analysis and provide oversight for maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) of hardware.
Analyze product health data to establish metrics that predict and measure quality performance.
Manage government inspections including GSI, GMIP, and DCMA process evaluations.
Improve the Quality Management System by defining and updating required documentation and processes.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar STEM fields.
8+ years of experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality in Drone systems, aeronautics/defense systems, or similar hardware.
Hands-on experience in system architecture, mechanical/electrical design, and integration for precision components like PCBA, avionics, and propulsion systems.
Experience leading the transition from engineering qualification to manufacturing production and verification.
Working knowledge of FMEA, APQP, PPAP (including MSA), and GD&T.
Working knowledge of mechanical/electrical manufacturing processes, Design of Experiments (DOE), and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
Analytical skills for data mining, metrics generation, and statistical analysis using tools like MatLab, JMP, or MiniTab.
Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. Secret clearance.
Master’s degree in a technical field (preferred).
10+ years of experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality in Drone systems, aeronautics/defense systems, or similar hardware (preferred).
5-7 years of experience developing quality systems for low volume, high complex manufacturing environments and suppliers (preferred).
Experience working with DCMA or Department of War on U.S. Military Contracts (preferred).
Working knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001-based Quality Management Systems (preferred).
Experience with IPC standards, J-STD, and MIL standard requirements for aerial vehicles (preferred).
Experience with Teamcenter, SolidWorks, NX, Jira, Tableau, and Altium (preferred).
