Product Quality Engineer
The Product Quality Engineer joins the team to define, develop, and execute processes that deliver high-quality programs for complex vehicle systems. This role involves driving product development and production through work instruction reviews, quality planning, inspection, and verification of parts and sub-assemblies. The engineer will manage the transition from new product introduction to sustainable manufacturing, lead Root Cause and Corrective Action activities, and perform health data analysis to improve reliability across the product lifecycle. Key responsibilities include managing Material Review Boards and overseeing supplier quality engineering. Required skills include experience with FMEA, APQP, PPAP, and GD&T, alongside proficiency in tools like MatLab, JMP, or MiniTab. The role focuses on solving manufacturing ambiguities and ensuring performance standards for systems involving avionics, propulsion, and lethality components within a high-velocity defense technology environment.
Manage product development and production through drawing reviews, quality planning, and verification of parts and sub-assemblies.
Resolve production ambiguities related to product maturity, process stability, and field performance.
Transition new products from initial introduction to sustainable, high-rate manufacturing processes and supply chains.
Eliminate product risks to improve reliability across the entire product lifecycle.
Lead Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) and Material Review Board (MRB) activities.
Analyze product health data to establish metrics for measuring quality performance.
Develop comprehensive quality plans and manage internal and external manufacturing process qualifications.
Manage a team of supplier quality engineers to oversee design and development activities with suppliers.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar technical field.
Experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality on high velocity vehicle systems.
Working knowledge of design review and quality management for components like PCBA, avionics, and propulsion systems.
Experience driving product quality requirements to test and measurement system development and optimization.
Knowledge of methodologies including FMEA, APQP, PPAP (including MSA), and GD&T.
Proficiency in mechanical/electrical manufacturing processes and analytical tools such as MatLab, JMP, or MiniTab.
Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. TS/SCI security clearance.
Master’s degree in a technical field (preferred); 6+ years of experience with quality systems for complex manufacturing; knowledge of AS9100/AS6500/ISO 9001 (preferred).
