The Product Line Manager, Coherent Optical Transceivers joins the Acacia team within the Transceiver Modules Group. This role involves owning the multi-year product strategy and execution roadmap for next-generation coherent optical interconnects. You will orchestrate the full lifecycle from market analysis and customer discovery to Product Requirement Documents, Concept Commits, and volume scaling. Key responsibilities include aligning hardware engineering, silicon photonics design, DSP architecture, operations, manufacturing, and marketing to deliver products on time. You will utilize technical knowledge of 400ZR/800ZR/OpenZR+ technologies, QSFP-DD/OSFP form factors, and IEEE/OIF/MSA standards. The role solves complex physical-layer engineering challenges, specifically developing high-speed pluggable optical solutions for cloud hyperscalers, telecommunication service providers, and AI data center networks, bridging distances from high-density server clusters to subsea cables and satellite communications.
Translate ambiguous customer requirements into concrete technical product specifications.
Engage directly with industry technical leaders and networking OEMs to capture requirements.
Position the product portfolio to capture emerging high-speed AI optical interconnect opportunities.
Ensure products are delivered on time and within target margin profiles.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related field with 12+ years' experience.
Master’s degree with 8+ years' professional experience.
8+ years in Technical Product Management, Product Marketing, and System Engineering within the optical communications, high-speed networking, or semiconductor transceiver industry.
Experience managing full hardware/optical product lifecycles from concept definition through engineering commit benchmarks, launch, and manufacturing.
Direct experience collaborating with Tier-1 cloud hyperscalers, telecommunications service providers, or networking equipment manufacturers.
Demonstrated technical understanding of coherent optical transceivers, pluggable form factors, optical standards bodies, and optical transmission properties.
Background in optical transceiver hardware design, silicon photonics integration, DSP system engineering, and high-speed electro-optic characterization (preferred).
Familiarity with AI/ML data center network architectures, emerging low-power optical interconnect paradigms, and industry standards (preferred).
