Product Development Specialist

What you'll do

• Coordinate complex technical projects to develop new optical mechanical solutions.
• Lead mechanical modeling efforts to understand adhesive and thin film mechanics in optical systems.
• Engage with key customers to identify technical challenges and develop first principle theoretical models.
• Coordinate test method development and laboratory experiments to validate material performance in system models.
• Provide technical guidance to materials developers regarding critical performance characteristics and their impact on systems.
• Generate intellectual property positions, including invention submissions, patents, and trade secrets.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline.
• Five years of experience in mechanical modeling and applied mechanics in a private, public, government, or military environment.
• Master's degree or higher in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Material Science (preferred).
• Demonstrated experience developing and analyzing mechanical models using various technologies and techniques (preferred).
• Experience leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams (preferred).
• Experience with adhesive/soft materials modeling, interfacial failures, fracture mechanics, and optical system performance (preferred).
• Excellent aptitude in mechanical fundamentals.
• Strong interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills (oral, written, and presentation).
