The Product Consultant - Site Performance & Productivity Optimization joins the Site Analytics team within the Mining Solutions organization. This role focuses on transforming operational data into actionable insights to improve site performance, cost per ton, and efficiency for quarry and mining customers. You will act as a trusted advisor, connecting customer data, equipment, and site operations to identify performance opportunities. Daily responsibilities include conducting product performance studies, developing data interpretations, creating visualizations, and managing tools to support the service roadmap. You will utilize data analysis, modeling, simulation, and technical expertise to solve complex operational challenges. Required skills include proficiency with SQL, Microsoft Power BI, and mining fleet performance modeling tools like VST or FPSim. You must demonstrate expertise in statistics, project management, and relationship management within industrial environments.
Analyze fleet and site data using modeling and simulation to identify productivity opportunities and optimization strategies.
Conduct product performance studies to assess jobsite efficiency and track the financial impact of improvements.
Present actionable recommendations to customer leadership to improve production, operating efficiency, and cost per ton.
Support go-to-market initiatives and sales execution by providing product application expertise at the point of sale.
Develop data interpretations, performance models, visualizations, and industry benchmarks to simplify complex operating data.
Manage tools and systems to integrate and improve solutions while maintaining a continuous-improvement backlog.
Capture customer requirements and industry perspectives to provide input for product improvements and new introductions.
Translate complex technical analysis into clear recommendations to build trust with customers and dealer organizations.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Analytics, or a related discipline, or substantial progressively responsible experience in a closely related field (preferred).
Demonstrated experience with data analysis, modeling, and simulation, particularly in quarry, aggregates, mining, heavy equipment, or comparable industrial environments (preferred).
Strong machine product and application knowledge, including an understanding of optimized fleet performance, productivity, and operational factors affecting cost per ton (preferred).
Experience with Caterpillar VST, FPSim, or comparable mining fleet performance modeling and simulation tools (preferred).
Experience building meaningful data visualizations and reporting solutions, including experience with SQL or similar databases and tools such as Microsoft Power BI (preferred).
Previous field experience in a dealer-facing or customer-facing role involving mining, quarry, aggregates, fleet management, heavy equipment, product application, or site productivity (preferred).
Experience working with external technology providers or vendors to develop, integrate, improve, or deploy customer-facing technology solutions (preferred).
Working knowledge of statistics and the ability to translate complex datasets into actionable customer recommendations (preferred).
