You will develop and own assembly processes, design experiments, analyze data using tools like Python or JMP, and collaborate with vendors to optimize manufacturing readiness. This role requires hands-on expertise in precision assembly, laser-based manufacturing, and process ownership, along with a strong background in engineering or physics. Ideal candidates have experience in electronics assembly, optical lens stacking, and working with contract manufacturers, making significant contributions to our cutting-edge product development efforts.

What you'll do

  • Develop and own assembly processes for optical and opto-mechanical devices.
  • Design and execute complex process engineering experiments within safety guidelines.
  • Analyze data to support process optimization and yield improvement.
  • Characterize hardware and define evaluation methods for complex systems.
  • Generate technical reports, specifications, and presentations for internal use.
  • Plan and execute projects from concept through manufacturing readiness stages.

What we're looking for

  • 1–5 years of relevant industry experience in assembly or manufacturing process development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
  • Hands-on experience with data analysis tools like Python, JMP, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding and practical application of Gage R&R and SPC methodologies.
  • Experience setting up, qualifying, and optimizing new equipment and processes for manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with laser machining techniques including cutting, marking, engraving, gluing, and dispensing.
  • Knowledge of optical lens stacking, alignment, and bonding processes.
