As a Principal Thermal Mechanical Photonic Designer on the global circuits team, you will focus on the architecture and design of CMOS and Silicon-Photonics high-speed chip interfaces including NVLink, IEEE, PCIE, USB, and OIF. You will perform thermal and structural design for silicon photonic designs, running stress simulations in optical components and fiber alignment to propose improved designs. Your daily work involves modeling die-package thermo-mechanical interactions, solder joint fatigue, creep, and hygroscopic stresses while establishing experimental methodologies for thermal validation and laser performance. You will support opto-mechanical system design and develop thermal specification datasheets based on FE and experiments according to JEDEC standards. Required expertise includes Ansys tools, silicon photonics IC development from concept to manufacturing, and experience with wire-bonding, wire fusing, and the assembly of lasers and interferometers.
