Principal Test Engineer, Compute Payload

What you'll do

• Design and implement test processes that integrate into electro-mechanical assembly lines for rapid iteration.
• Create sustainable, automated test systems with robust mechanical and software components.
• Manage the physical infrastructure for test integration and operations.
• Lead development tests to ensure incremental milestones for production ramp-up are met.
• Track manufacturing system metrics regarding rate, cost, and quality.
• Identify, design, and implement tooling and hardware requirements into production processes.
• Analyze non-conformances to determine root causes and drive test optimization.
• Validate and troubleshoot power and fluid systems for testing purposes.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing or test environment demonstrating automation control accomplishments.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible for required Department of State authorizations.
• Master’s degree or PhD in an engineering discipline (preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and lead technical teams without relying solely on formal authority (preferred).
• Experience with integration and testing of propulsion, thermal, electrical, and/or structural systems (preferred).
• Proficiency in NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, or other industry standard CAD design tools (preferred).
• Experience with instrumentation and data acquisition (preferred).
