JOB TITLE: Principal / Sr. Principal System Administrator – Space/Satellite Systems
The Software Controls Engineering - East organization is seeking a Principal / Sr. Principal System Administrator to support real-time operations for space and satellite systems. You will install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux VMs via OpenStack, while providing Tier 1 troubleshooting and support. Key responsibilities include managing virtual environments including VDI Desktops utilizing PCoIP, creating process documentation, and performing configuration management to improve system reliability. You will utilize tools such as Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Ansible, and Terraform. Required technical skills include RHEL 7/8, Windows 10 and Server administration, Active Directory, and Security+ certification. This role addresses the technical challenges of designing, delivering, and sustaining satellites and human spacecraft within a secure SCIF environment.
Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain Windows and Linux VMs via OpenStack.
Provide Tier 1 troubleshooting and support for the OpenStack environment.
Create and maintain user accounts and modify security access lists via Active Directory and Linux.
Perform maintenance on virtualized servers and VDI Desktops utilizing PCoIP.
Implement system enhancements including installing, upgrading, patching, and monitoring systems.
Support the integration of DevOps software such as Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Ansible, and Terraform.
Create process documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for system operations.
Provide accurate logs to development and sustainment teams to improve product stability.
What we're looking for
Must have U.S. Citizenship.
Must have a current or active Top Secret level clearance and the ability to obtain SCI level access.
Current Security+ or IAT Level 2 certification.
Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience; OR Master’s degree with 3 years of experience; OR equivalent experience.
Experience in Linux (RHEL 7/8) Server and Workstation Administration and OpenStack Administration and/or experience in Windows (10 and Server) Server and Workstation Administration.
Ability to follow a checklist or an established troubleshooting routine for connection or software issues.
Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) certification (preferred).
Experience with DNS, Active Directory, GPOs, and LDAP configuration (preferred).
