Principal Software Engineer

What you'll do

• Provide architecture leadership and end-to-end solution ownership for applications within Lodging Sales Distribution.
• Lead the implementation of complex features and provide planning and estimation for major capital initiatives.
• Act as the primary subject matter expert during Sev1 and Sev2 incidents to lead root cause analysis and remediation.
• Mentor lead and senior engineers while maintaining architectural consistency across multiple systems and teams.
• Design, program, debug, and modify software improvements for local, networked, and cloud-based programs.
• Develop highly scalable solutions using Java/Spring Boot microservices, RESTful APIs, Angular, and Node.js.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and AI-enabled delivery capabilities to drive informed technical decision-making.
• Manage the full lifecycle of software components including conception, design, development, testing, and implementation.

What we're looking for

• Minimum of 10 years of related work experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Engineering, or a comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience.
• Authority in Java/Spring Boot microservices, RESTful API design, Angular, Node.js, cloud-hosted platforms (AWS), and containerized platforms (Docker).
• Expertise in AI tools such as Amazon Kiro, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and Claude.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities to mentor engineers and foster a diverse and inclusive culture.
• Proficiency with deployment configuration management, content delivery technologies, observability platforms, and authentication/authorization frameworks (preferred).
• Deep commerce and e-commerce domain knowledge supporting large-scale guest-facing applications (preferred).
• Advanced AI-assisted software development for prototyping, testing, and delivery (preferred).
