TL;DR · Principal Software Engineer, Infrastructure Automation

Principal Software Engineer - Infrastructure Automation serves as an enterprise technical leader responsible for the architecture, strategy, and engineering direction of the infrastructure-as-code platform used to manage cloud and on-premises environments. This role involves building and maintaining Terraform modules, Ansible playbooks, and policy-as-code guardrails while establishing engineering standards for versioning, testing, and release management. The engineer will develop automated controls for regulatory requirements like PCI DSS and SOX, eliminate static credentials using OIDC-federated roles, and design self-service capabilities for infrastructure discovery. Key technologies include Terraform, Ansible, Python, Go, and Rego for policy enforcement. The role addresses the complex challenge of automating operational controls and ensuring secure, compliant infrastructure in a highly regulated financial services environment, specifically focusing on providing consistent, observable defaults for networking, identity management, and encryption across large-scale enterprise systems.
