Principal Site Reliability Engineer

What you'll do

• Define and lead the long-term reliability strategy and operational standards for the platform's distributed systems.
• Lead architecture decisions for highly available, fault-tolerant systems running on AWS, GCP, and Kubernetes.
• Establish SRE practices including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and production readiness reviews.
• Design and implement next-generation observability capabilities including metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting.
• Manage major incident responses and improve escalation paths and post-incident review processes.
• Drive infrastructure automation using Terraform and other infrastructure-as-code tooling to reduce operational toil.
• Partner with security teams to ensure infrastructure meets PCI and SOC 2 compliance requirements.
• Mentor senior engineers and provide technical leadership on high-impact reliability initiatives across the organization.

What we're looking for

• 8+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, platform engineering, or infrastructure engineering.
• Deep expertise in AWS and Kubernetes for designing and operating large-scale containerized microservice systems.
• Strong experience with Terraform and other infrastructure-as-code tools to manage distributed systems.
• Proven success implementing SRE practices including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, incident management, and observability.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python or Go for building automation and tooling.
• Experience operating in security-conscious environments with familiarity in PCI, SOC 2, and NIST frameworks.
• Strong background in CI/CD and delivery engineering using tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, or GitHub Actions.
• Experience using AI-assisted and agentic engineering tools to improve productivity and automation (preferred).
