As a Principal Signal Processing Engineer, you will join the team developing next-generation technology for heart rhythm disorder treatments. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing novel algorithms and software for diagnosis and therapy during cardiac ablation procedures. Your daily work involves implementing high-performance, high-reliability production code for medical devices, managing signal processing pipelines within Affera software products, and collaborating with hardware engineering teams on electronics and firmware. You will utilize Python, C++, and Linux while applying expertise in filter design, statistics, and machine learning-based development. The role requires analyzing bench, preclinical, and clinical data to inform design decisions. You will solve complex technical problems related to cardiac pacing, mapping, ablation, and body impedance measurements to improve patient outcomes in cardiac electrophysiology.
Design, develop, and test signal processing algorithms as high-performance production code for medical devices.
Develop novel software for diagnosis and therapy during cardiac ablation procedures.
Manage signal processing pipelines within Affera software products.
Perform performance verification and validation of computational algorithms.
Collaborate with hardware engineering teams on electronics and firmware to support signal processing needs.
Analyze bench, preclinical, and clinical data to inform design decisions and verification activities.
Take ownership of key software features within an agile development environment.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree with 7 years of relevant experience, Master's with 5 years, or PhD with 3 years of relevant experience.
Experience designing, developing, and testing real-time, high-performance, high-reliability code for digital signal processing and computational algorithms.
Deep understanding of signal processing fundamentals including filter design and statistics (preferred).
Experience with machine learning-based development, including dataset annotation, model development, and production deployment (preferred).
Understanding of cardiac pacing, mapping, ablation, and body impedance measurements (preferred).
Hands-on R&D experience with custom or prototype hardware (preferred).
Proficiency with software development on Linux and programming in Python and C++ (preferred).
Work authorization at the time of hire and for the duration of employment.
