The Principal Security Engineering Program Manager - China Security & Infrastructure, Apple Services Engineering joins the Apple Services Engineering team to lead China security and infrastructure compliance initiatives. This role involves defining and operationalizing the strategic roadmap for security and compliance across all services operating in mainland China. You will manage complex cross-functional dependencies, influence stakeholders without direct authority, and represent the technical security posture to Chinese regulators and internal executives. Key responsibilities include navigating regulatory landscapes like MLPS and PIPL, shaping technical architecture, and driving large-scale infrastructure security improvements. The role requires deep expertise in cloud-native infrastructure, distributed systems, network architecture, and enterprise security controls. You will balance rigorous compliance requirements with high standards for privacy and user experience while managing risks across global engineering organizations.
Define and operationalize the strategic roadmap for China security and infrastructure compliance across all Apple services.
Lead programs to ensure technical alignment with Chinese cybersecurity and data privacy laws like MLPS and PIPL.
Advise Apple executive leadership on regulatory risks, compliance posture, and strategic infrastructure investments.
Manage complex cross-functional dependencies, risks, and resources across multiple global engineering organizations.
Collaborate with senior engineers to ensure China infrastructure meets both Apple's security standards and local mandates.
Develop communication plans to proactively report program status, regulatory shifts, and systemic risks to stakeholders.

What we're looking for
10+ years of experience in program management focused on infrastructure security and compliance, or 5+ years in program management and 5+ years in a related technical field.
Deep expertise in China's regulatory landscape, specifically regarding cybersecurity, data localization, and privacy laws.
Proven track record of interfacing with government regulators, auditors, and legal teams on complex technical security matters.
Exceptional communication skills to convey complex technical and regulatory information to both technical audiences and executive leadership.
Experience leading large-scale, highly matrixed, cross-functional programs across global time zones.
Solid understanding of cloud-native infrastructure, distributed systems, network architecture, and enterprise security controls.
Advanced ability to identify, assess, and prioritize systemic security and compliance risks across multiple organizations.
Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Law, or a related field (preferred); industry certifications like CISSP, CISM, or CIPP/A (preferred).
