Principal Security Architect

What you'll do

• Maintain a real-time synthesis of productivity risks by incorporating new signals as the environment evolves.
• Partner with engineering teams to build tools and repeatable patterns that reveal and close security risks.
• Translate complex security requirements into durable, reusable patterns for engineering deployment.
• Communicate risk clearly to non-security stakeholders regarding costs, implications, and consequences of delay.
• Determine security priorities and roadmaps based on incomplete facts and changing conditions.
• Analyze code and telemetry to build custom tooling rather than waiting for external solutions.
• Represent the security position in technical discussions and deep-dive sessions with engineers.

What we're looking for

• Master's Degree in a relevant field and 4+ years of experience in software development, large scale computing, threat modeling, cyber security, or anomaly detection.
• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field and 6+ years of experience in software development, large scale computing, threat modeling, cyber security, or anomaly detection.
• Equivalent experience to the degree and years of experience requirements.
• Ability to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire and every two years thereafter.
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.
• 6+ years of hands-on security experience (preferred).
• Experience in a corporate or enterprise environment at scale where controls compete with productivity (preferred).
• Experience with common scripting languages and working knowledge of agentic development tools (preferred).
