Principal Search Consulting Architect

What you'll do

• Translate complex business requirements into resilient enterprise retrieval architectures built on distributed Elasticsearch environments.
• Design and govern large-scale cluster topologies including node blueprinting, capacity planning, and Index Lifecycle Management.
• Develop and operationalize semantic search architectures using vector databases, hybrid retrieval, and RAG pipelines.
• Profile and tune distributed search performance to meet high-QPS requirements and sub-second latency goals.
• Architect robust ingestion strategies for petabyte-scale data while optimizing cluster state and thread pools.
• Influence the Elasticsearch product roadmap by collaborating with engineering teams to address enterprise use cases.
• Create and publish global best practices, reference architectures, and reusable solution patterns for the community.
• Mentor internal staff and external clients to foster a culture of technical excellence in search technology.

What we're looking for

• 8+ years of experience as a Principal Architect, Lead Engineer, or Senior Systems Consultant with deep expertise in Elasticsearch at scale.
• Comprehensive understanding of distributed systems theory and Elasticsearch internals including Apache Lucene indexing and cluster state management.
• Proven track record of deploying production-grade semantic search solutions using vector fields, ML nodes, and LLM orchestration tools.
• Advanced knowledge of orchestrating large-scale workloads across AWS, Azure, or GCP using Docker and Terraform.
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages such as Java, Python, or Go with experience using official Elasticsearch client libraries.
• Exceptional communication skills to present technical roadmaps to executive stakeholders and align them with business strategy.
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent deep industry experience.
• Ability to work effectively across distributed global teams and travel to client sites as required.
