The Principal Robotics Platform Architect joins the technology team to own the software foundation for robotics and autonomy. This role involves defining and delivering the end-to-end software architecture, including middleware, runtime, inter-process communication, and platform services for autonomous machines. You will design technical infrastructure, evaluate new technologies, and establish standards, APIs, and reference designs to enable cross-functional teams to build and deploy faster. Key requirements include expertise in ROS 2, DDS, edge and cloud compute architecture, GPU accelerated compute, and containerized deployment. You will solve complex problems in construction autonomy by integrating perception, planning, and controls into a unified software layer. The work focuses on creating a scalable platform that allows machines to perceive environments and make informed decisions in dynamic jobsites.
Define and deliver the end-to-end software architecture for the robotics platform, including middleware, runtime, and inter-process communication.
Design the onboard, edge, and cloud compute architecture for real-time execution on production machines.
Establish technical standards, APIs, and reference designs to enable autonomy, machine learning, and simulation teams.
Develop detailed architecture deliverables and IT blueprints to solve complex business problems and align with corporate strategies.
Lead the evaluation and deployment of new technologies to enhance existing digital technical capabilities.
Translate business requirements into technical application designs using established methodologies and tools.
Provide technical direction and govern technology decisions across multiple engineering organizations.
Manage the software integration of perception, planning, and controls to deliver reliable autonomous behavior.
