Principal Research Scientist

What you'll do

• Lead end-to-end project incubations from initial ideation and prototyping through to final deployment.
• Drive advancements in applied machine learning research to address strategic company priorities.
• Co-invent novel ML modeling approaches and architectures to unlock new product capabilities.
• Develop agentic systems and innovative technologies for Siri and speech-related products.
• Partner with software, hardware, and design teams to define technical strategy and deliver scalable technologies.
• Translate complex technical research into actionable insights for executive leadership and cross-functional partners.
• Publish research findings and engage with the academic community regarding new breakthroughs.

What we're looking for

• Hold an MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Possess an equivalent track record of incubating and shipping ML features, platforms, and products.
• Have at least 5 years of experience leading an ML team.
• Demonstrate deep understanding of the ML model lifecycle for large-scale systems.
• Maintain a publication record in relevant conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, or others listed.
• Possess proficient modeling skills with familiarity in toolkits like JAX, PyTorch, and/or TensorFlow.
• Demonstrate ability to influence high-level architecture decisions and advocate for research directions with leadership.
• Exhibit exceptional communication skills to translate complex technical work for a broad audience.
