The Principal , Product Management-Technical joins the Mastercard Networks Exchange team as a senior individual-contributor role. This position involves owning a core product domain end to end, where the individual will author high-quality functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Key responsibilities include conducting in-depth assessments on architecture, managing dependency risks, and defining test strategies for functional and network certification testing. The role requires deep expertise in card transaction processing, specifically regarding authorization, clearing, settlement, reconciliation, and dispute flows. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in payment message formats, APIs, integrations, and distributed architecture. Define test strategies and acceptance scenarios for functional, regression, and network certification testing.
Manage NEX interfaces with global networks to ensure compliance with mandates and release calendars.
Coordinate with external processors and gateways to align delivery timelines and resolve integration issues.
Review specifications and coach other product managers to set high standards for technical product quality.
What we're looking for
10-15 years of experience in technical product management, engineering, or solution architecture roles with a progression into product.
Deep domain expertise in card transaction processing, specifically in at least two of authorization, clearing, settlement, reconciliation, or disputes.
Strong technical background with hands-on understanding of payment message formats, processing logic, and distributed architecture.
Experience partnering with engineers on complex systems including APIs, integrations, and data models.
Experience working with external processors or gateway partners on joint delivery.
Experience mentoring product managers or setting requirements standards across a team.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to produce specifications for engineers and summaries for executives.
