Principal Platform Software Engineer

What you'll do

• Lead the architecture, design, and development of OCI Log Analytics query-language capabilities including parsing and distributed execution.
• Build scalable systems to execute advanced analytics and machine learning algorithms across terabytes of data.
• Develop AI agents and agentic workflows to translate user intent into effective queries and automated troubleshooting.
• Architect secure, multi-tenant cloud services with features like fault tolerance, replication, and automated recovery.
• Identify and eliminate performance bottlenecks across query execution, indexing, storage, and analytics pipelines.
• Create load, stress, and fault-injection tests to validate system behavior at scale.
• Establish service-level objectives, telemetry, dashboards, and alerts to support operational excellence.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to investigate root causes and resolve production incidents.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Six or more years of software engineering experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong programming expertise in Java, Python, or both.
• Experience building cloud-scale, multi-tenant products supporting high-throughput, concurrent processing.
• Deep understanding of distributed computing, data processing, system reliability, and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with LLMs, AI agents, and protocols like Model Context Protocol (MCP) and Agent-to-Agent (A2A).
• Ability to provide technical leadership and mentor other engineers in a fast-moving environment.
• Willingness to work on-site in Nashville, Tennessee, and participate in the team's on-call rotation.
