Principal Machine Learning Scientist

What you'll do

• Define and drive the scientific vision for AI and machine learning initiatives across the organization.
• Influence technical strategy and roadmap decisions for multiple product and platform teams.
• Develop AI-native experiences using Large Language Models, agentic systems, and autonomous workflows.
• Implement MLOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and model governance for production systems.
• Establish evaluation-driven development methodologies to measure quality, safety, and business impact.
• Mentor scientists and engineers while establishing best practices for machine learning research and engineering.
• Ensure all models and data pipelines comply with security standards and privacy regulations like GDPR.

What we're looking for

• A Doctorate in a relevant field and 3+ years of data science experience, or a Master's and 5+ years, or a Bachelor's and 7+ years.
• Ability to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check.
• 10+ years developing and deploying machine learning solutions in production (preferred).
• 5+ years leading large-scale AI or machine learning initiatives (preferred).
• Experience with Large Language Models, Generative AI, and building agentic AI systems (preferred).
• Proficiency in Python and modern ML frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, or Semantic Kernel (preferred).
• Experience with MLOps, LLMOps, model governance, and AI observability (preferred).
• Experience with enterprise copilots, autonomous workflows, and AI evaluation platforms (preferred).
