What you'll do

  • Define and own the end-to-end technical architecture for the News & Entertainment machine learning platform.

  • Identify and prioritize high-impact ML workstreams while managing risks and tracking metrics-driven outcomes.
  • Implement advanced technologies such as recommendation systems, LLMs, RAGs, and automated content tagging.
  • Manage production incidents and drive engineering standards for reliability, observability, and quality.
  • Translate business objectives into technical requirements to improve guest experience across multiple brands.
  • Mentor senior engineers and foster a culture of technical rigor and continuous learning.
  • Influence cross-organizational engineering standards and best practices within the broader company community.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Statistics, Math, or a comparable field of study.
  • 10+ years of experience building and operating ML engineering systems in production environments.
  • Deep expertise in data science, deep learning algorithms, and statistical methods for large-scale engineering problems.
  • Demonstrated experience owning architecture across a significant platform domain, including authoring documents and leading implementation.
  • Proven ability to drive quantifiable improvements in ML platform capabilities, personalization quality, or recommendation systems.
  • Experience designing backend microservices for distributed systems using REST and expertise with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
  • Deep hands-on experience with big data technologies such as Databricks, Spark, Kinesis, and Kafka.
  • Experience with agentic AI workflows, LLM fine-tuning, MLOps platforms, or AI-assisted development tools (preferred).
