JOB TITLE: Principal Engineer, Solutions Architecture
The Validation Engineer joins the Services Integration team to develop and support automation software for configuring, validating, auditing, and collecting asset information during the manufacturing and deployment of enterprise rack-based offerings. You will lead the integration of software tool suites for system management and updates while developing Linux shell scripts, Perl, and Python packages to support testing across various environments. Key responsibilities include collaborating with product groups to deliver VMware-based appliances into rack-based offerings and performing performance benchmarking, power measurements, and stress-testing. You must possess expertise in embedded development for server control systems, BIOS/BMC firmware, and networking technologies like Mellanox InfiniBand and Cisco Nexus. The role requires deep knowledge of RedHat, Ubuntu, and virtualization technologies to manage cloud and big data software stacks.
Lead the integration of software tool suites for system configuration, updates, management, and validation.
Develop Linux shell scripts, Perl, and Python packages to support testing and deployment activities.
Streamline the delivery of packaged VMware-based appliances into rack-based offerings.
Support sample demand builds and coordinate priorities across all business bases.
Perform system concept evaluations, proof-of-concept builds, performance benchmarking, power measurements, and stress-testing.
Create products that integrate into customer environments for seamless deployment, updates, and management.
What we're looking for
Strong experience in embedded development of server control and management systems with deep understanding of Linux and BIOS/BMC firmware.
Fluency in modern networking technology including 400/100Gb, Mellanox InfiniBand, Cisco Nexus, Arista, SFP+ Twinax, Fiber optics, and Dell Networking.
Deep understanding of Dell Enterprise server and storage technology, including PowerEdge, PE-C platforms, BIOS, BMC/iDRAC, switches, PDUs, and serial aggregators.
Knowledge of IPMI standards and industry-standard system management console solutions.
Knowledge of cloud/big data software stack models and experience with provisioning and deployment of open-standard software stacks.
Thorough understanding of RedHat and Ubuntu Linux distributions and their applicability on enterprise-class dense and traditional server platforms.
Deployment and provisioning experience with Linux and Windows OS, software stacks, and virtualization technologies such as VMware.
Experience with a BSCE, BSCS, or equivalent degree (preferred).
