Principal Database Security

What you'll do

• Define and lead the enterprise strategy for Database Security and Data Obfuscation capabilities.
• Manage a global delivery model including an onshore/offshore squad for data protection tasks.
• Oversee the deployment, tuning, and policy management of Database Activity Monitoring (DAM) systems.
• Design and implement Dynamic Data Masking and Test Data Management solutions across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Ensure audit readiness and compliance with regulatory standards such as FFIEC, GLBA, and SOX.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members to ensure the achievement of company objectives.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align security goals with business requirements and risk management.
• Deliver risk-based reporting and metrics regarding control coverage and remediation progress to leadership.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a similar field or equivalent.
• At least 7 years of relevant experience.
• 5+ years of experience in data security with a focus on database security and/or data protection.
• Hands-on experience with DAM platforms such as Imperva SecureSphere, IBM Guardium, or similar tools.
• Proven experience leading enterprise-scale data obfuscation programs including masking, tokenization, and de-identification.
• Deep understanding of database platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, NoSQL) and cloud data stores.
• Strong understanding of regulatory processes and compliance frameworks such as PCI, SOX, GLBA, and NYDFS.
• Experience implementing and managing data privacy controls in large-scale banking or financial environments.
