The Principal Cyber Systems Engineer/Sr. Principal Cyber Systems Engineer – 19899 joins the Sentinel Flight Systems Guidance Software Integration & Test team to maintain test set equipment and configurations. This role involves operating and maintaining Windows and Linux-based systems, networks, and hardware while managing user accounts, permissions, and firmware updates. The engineer will harden software, troubleshoot network connections, manage configuration baselines, and fulfill change requests for both existing and new environments. Key responsibilities include designing and validating new networked environments and evaluating equipment to meet specific system needs. Required technical skills include proficiency in Linux/RHEL and Windows systems administration, network infrastructure configuration, and cybersecurity compliance. The role focuses on the Sentinel program, specifically addressing the technical challenges of maintaining secure, integrated test environments for flight systems guidance software within a dynamic operational framework.
Operate and maintain Windows and Linux-based test systems, equipment, and networks.
Install and verify patches, updates, firmware, and drivers for Windows and Linux operating systems.
Manage user accounts, group permissions, and roles across both Windows and Linux environments.
Harden and update software and operating systems to meet security requirements.
Configure and troubleshoot switches, servers, and network connections for various hardware.
Maintain accurate network diagrams, cyber records, configuration baselines, and documentation.
Analyze and fulfill change requests while tracking cyber requests for new hardware and software.
Design, stand up, and validate new networked environments and associated test equipment.
What we're looking for
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Must possess an active U.S. Government DoD Secret clearance and an active Enhanced Security Clearance (SAP).
Must meet DoD 8140 Certification Requirements and hold an active Sec+ certification.
Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience, Master's with 3 years, or PhD with 1 year (or equivalent experience) for Principal level.
Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience, Master's with 6 years, or PhD with 4 years (or equivalent experience) for Sr. Principal level.
Experience maintaining IT equipment, servers, switches, and networked systems including Linux/RHEL and Windows administration.
Experience installing patches, managing user accounts, and hardening Windows and Linux operating systems.
Experience configuring network infrastructure and designing new networked environments; familiarity with cybersecurity compliance and RTOS (preferred).
